Title of Lesson	Current Issues and events
Standards	Students will understand the importance of current events to an educated democracy.
Objectives	Students will be able to: 1) answer question concerning current issues of the day 2) discuss with details current issues of the day.
Needed Materials	Computer with internet access
Procedure	Student will use on line news sources such as Christian Science Monitor New York Times on Line Star Telegram Manchester Guardian Google News Data Base To search and read the news of the week. Students and instructor will discuss different articles on State, National and International News

LOG: I am in love with the Google Documents. I can have the kids go on line, take the quiz and I can easily compare answers to see which ones they had the most difficulty on. This will make for ease of assessment and for analyzing the results leading to more data driven curriculum for better results.
